Culinary Process Engineering Intern

New Age Meats is a fast-growing Berkeley based cellular agriculture company. We create delicious meat made from animal cell culture instead of animal slaughter – healthier for humans, animals, and the planet. We are excited about bringing the best automation and data science practices into stem cell biology – developing enhanced cell lines, media, and bioreactor scaling – to bring cultivated meat to market faster and more affordably.

We are looking to supplement our research and manufacturing efforts with a team of interns. An internship at New Age Meats will last for a duration of 6 months and is a full time position.


High School or Diploma or related Degree from a college or a university completed or in progress


  • Experience working in academic or industrial lab will be preferred
  • Hands on experience in a kitchen and/or food laboratory preferred 
  • Intermediate knowledge of cooking methods or processes preferred 
  • Ability to contribute in a fast paced, research and manufacturing environment
  • Operate with moderate supervision and have meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with literature research and design of experiments is desirable
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and working with Google Drive is required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Comfort with a fast-paced start-up environment and remote communication
